Dear Families,

We are writing to share an important insurance update from Indianola Pediatric Dentistry.

Starting July 1, your child may have a new dental carrier for Medicaid or Hawk-I. Iowa Department of Health and Human Services mailed letters to all Medicaid DWP and Hawk-i members notifying them of this change and assigning them to a dental carrier. That change will be effective on July 1, 2026. You may request a change if you would like a different dental carrier for your child.

At this time, our office will continue accepting DWP and Hawk-i patients with Delta Dental insurance. We are unable to accept Dentaquest insurance.

Question: What if I get assigned to Dentaquest?

You are allowed to switch your carrier before June 18 for any reason. If you do not make thechange by that date, however, Iowa DHHS has confirmed that after July 1, 2026 you will have 90 days to change your enrollment for any reason. As a result, you can continue to make changes for any reason until September 29, 2026.

Question: What if I did not receive a letter? Can’t you just look it up?

We don’t have access to that information before July 1, but you do. If you haven’t received a letter, you can call 1-800-338-8366.

Question: How do I change dental carriers?

Members can contact Medicaid in one of three ways to make the change:

1. Email their Annual Choice change form: IMEMember@hhs.iowa.gov

2. Call Iowa Medicaid: Iowa Medicaid Member Services: 1-800-338-8366

3. Mail in their Annual Choice change form: Member Services, PO Box 36510, Des Moines, IA 50315

Please note this only relates to plans administered by Iowa Medicaid DWP and Hawk-i. There are no changes to plans offered by an employer.

We sincerely appreciate the trust you place in Indianola Pediatric Dentistry and thank you for allowing us to care for your child’s smile.

Sincerely,

Dr. Sandra Fox & Dr. Audra Feldhaus
